When I woke up this morning, I had no idea I would be ice skating before the day was over. Unexpected adventures are the best kind!

I had been ice skating once a million years ago. And ChrisB had been a few times as a kid. Chris never had. It was his very first time to ice skate! However, you would not have known this by the way he took off across the ice. He didn't mention that he used to roller blade as a kid until he had zipped around the ice a few times like some kind of crazy skating wizard.

I was not so good. I stayed next to the edge and pulled myself along. Chris pushed me around the rink a few times, which was quite enjoyable. And I finally half way sort of skated once around not totally sucking.

Now I wish we had gone earlier, rather than on the very last weekend of ice skating. It would've been fun to learn how to do it properly, and to skate when there weren't a lot of people and when it was cold enough to feel like winter. And when the ice wasn't covered in a puddle of water.
